BRITTEN MUSEUM Give Away!
We have 20 plus passes to give away for the Britten Museum. All you need to do is enter round one and turn up on the day to be in the draw. We will do a random draw of race bike numbers and announce winners on the day at the track. Pretty good odds for this one so get your entries in.
2026 Championship
We are please to have Redwood Physio once again as our naming rights sponsor and are really looking forward to a great season of racing in 2026. Round 2 is on June 28 and we plan to have at least 3 more rounds later this year. Future dates are still unconfirmed but the calendar should be released in early June. The V8 super cars and the consequent construction work at the track however is going to effect the frequency and dates of many events. We will let you know as soon as we have confirmation.

AGM 2026 & Evening Forum.
BEARS Motorcycle Club Annual General Meeting will be held at the Bealey function room on July 1st 2026 at 6:30 pm. This will be followed by a open forum where we wish to discuss our plans for the future and get feedback and ideas from you, our members. 2026 is a remit year so there is an opportunity to make changes to the official BEARS classes when remits are called for later in the year. Other topics will include the BEARS South Island Trophy, possible opportunities to combine meetings with other clubs and the general viability and cost of motorcycle racing into the future. This is an important event so please put it in your calendar.
An official notice of the AGM, agenda and nomination forms will be issued soon. Our treasurer, Edson is stepping down from the role so there is a vacancy we need to fill.

Oil catch belly pans
You forgot didn't you?? Remember these will be compulsory from January 1st 2027 so if you haven't sorted one already get on to it soon. After this date you won't be able to race without one. The MNZ rule is below.
Technical Motorcycle Requirements All machines must be fitted with an integral lower fairing dam (Belly Pan) or separate catch tray which must be constructed and fitted to trap, and hold the machines engine oil and coolant up to a maximum of 3.5 litres when fitted to the bike. The belly pan must have 1x25mm drain hole which will be fitted with a rubber bung/stopper or similar plug that may be removed in wet conditions. If the oil and water capacity of the machine is less than 3.5 litres, the belly pan or catch tank fitted only needs to be capable of holding the combined capacity of the fluids of that machine. The onus of proof of the capacity is the competitors responsibility.
